How to Register for Classes on BannerWeb

Registration for classes is done via BannerWeb, the University’s online student information system. Please see below to determine your dates for registration:

  • Transfer student registration begins on July 7 at 9:00 a.m. and ends July 17 at 5:00 p.m.
(This is ONLY for students transferring from another college or university, NOT for new first-year students.)
  • Richmond Scholars may register July 25 from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.
(Those selected as Richmond Scholars can also register during the July 28-August 8 dates open to all first-year students.)
  • First-year student registration begins July 28 at 9:00 a.m. and ends August 8 at 12:00 p.m.

BannerWeb is available 24 hours a day with the exception of scheduled maintenance on Friday nights from 6:00–10:00 p.m. The registration time is available for you to work on an initial schedule. You will have a chance to make schedule changes after meeting your advisor during orientation and during the first two weeks of class (see below).

If you do not have access to a computer on which to complete the registration process, please contact the Registrar’s Office by July 21, 2008, by phone at 804-289-8639; by mail at 28 Westhampton Way, University of Richmond, VA 23173; or by e-mail at registrar@richmond.edu.

After registration closes on August 8th, you will not be able to change your schedule until you arrive on campus for orientation. At that time, you will have two opportunities to make schedule changes:

  • Friday and Saturday, August 22 and 23, after meeting with your assigned academic advisor, which happens as part of the Orientation program.  Your advisor will give you a Term PIN that will allow you to access BannerWeb on August 22 and 23 to make changes to your schedule.
  • The two-week add/drop period that begins the first day of classes, Monday, August 25. You may add or drop a class for no fee through the end of the first week of classes. However, there is a $10 per transaction fee for adding or dropping a course beginning the second week of classes. (Note: Courses designated with the code "5D" on BannerWeb are only available to add during the first five class days of the semester).
