First-Year Core Course
The First-Year Core Course is a two-semester course taken by every first-year student and taught by a large number of our faculty. The “Core” course explores some of the fundamental issues of the human experience by looking at texts from different cultures, disciplines and historical periods, to get a panoramic view.
Every Core Course section shares the same syllabus and many of the same readings, giving students and faculty the opportunity to continue discussion beyond the classroom.
