Italian

To determine your appropriate placement in Italian, answer the following questions:

  • Is Italian spoken in your home? If yes, contact Prof. Lorenza Marcin for placement
  • Have you studied Italian for one year in high school? If yes, register for Italian 121.
  • Have you studied Italian for two years in high school? If yes, choose Italian 221 and contact Prof. Lorenza Marcin for permission to add the course and for final placement.
  • Have you studied Italian for three to four years in high school? If yes, register for Italian 221 and contact Prof. Lorenza Marcin for permission to add the course.
  • Have you studied Italian for more than four years? If yes, contact Prof. Lorenza Marcin for possible exemption from the COM 2 requirement and permission to enroll in 300-level Italian courses.

Course Placement and Credit

Students who place beyond Italian 221 cannot take Italian 121 or 221 for credit.
