Roadmap to Success Roadmap 1 Program

Living with a roommate.  Choosing classes.  Making new friends.   Living away from home.

The first year of college comes with new experiences, new people and a lot of choices to make. So what's the best way to navigate these changes and continue to excel academically?

The Roadmap 1 Program combines a pre-orientation experience with follow-up sessions to help first-year students transition into the academic and social life of Richmond with greater success. Working closely with faculty and staff, the select group of Roadmap students will develop a community through short academic courses, skill building sessions, social activities and an online community.

The Roadmap 1 Program has two components:

  • A Pre-Orientation Program that combines a faculty-led academic experience with sessions introducing you to life and resources at Richmond. This program runs from August 16th through 19th.
  • Follow-Up Sessions that allow you to explore more fully the ideas and opportunities you uncovered during the pre-orientation program through 1-hour, short programs.
