NEW Roadmap to Success First-Year Program

Living with a roommate.  Choosing classes.  Making new friends.   Living away from home.

The first year of college comes with many new experiences, new people and a lot choices to make. So what’s the best way to navigate all these new and different changes and continue to excel academically?

The Roadmap to Success First-Year Program combines a pre-orientation experience with follow-up sessions to help you transition into the academic and social life of Richmond and position you for greater success. Working closely with faculty and staff, the select group of Roadmap students will develop a community through short academic courses, skill building sessions, social activities and an online community.

The First-Year Roadmap Program has two components:

  • A Pre-Orientation Program that combines a faculty-led academic experience with sessions introducing you to life and resources at Richmond. This program runs from August 17th through 20th.
  • September Shorts, a 4 week follow-up program, allows you to explore more fully the ideas and opportunities you uncovered during the pre-orientation program. The September Shorts are one-hour sessions that meet once a week from August 25th through September.
